Guitar (Acoustic)
Tan Jun Heng
Tan Jun Heng is a guitarist and session musician whose interests sit at the crossroads of performance and production. Working across R&B, pop, and jazz, and inspired by the likes of Tom Misch, John Mayer, and Bobby Broom, he has collaborated with local artists including nkei, vulclaire, and rhyu.
He is an active performer on Singapore's live scene, appearing with the jazz-fusion band The Suitcase and with the Jazz Association Singapore Youth Orchestra at the 2026 Lion City Jazz Festival alongside Randy Brecker and Ada Rovatti. He is currently pursuing a degree in Audio Arts and Sciences at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, which grounds his playing in a technical understanding of sound, recording, and production.
Coming mainly from a self-directed musical background, I understand both the challenges and the rewards of learning guitar through informal methods. I hope to encourage students not only to play songs, but to understand the musical ideas behind them. By developing technique alongside ear training and theory, I aim to help students become confident, independent musicians who develop their own artistic voice.
