The cello is one of the most versatile instruments, singing across baritone, tenor, and soprano registers while expressing a wide range of emotions and colours. Every cellist can develop a rich, resonant sound through strong technical foundations and a love for music-making.

What lessons cover
Core technical areas
Lessons develop posture and alignment, bow control, finger position, and tone production, with close, steady attention to relaxed, supported bow hold, smooth, continuous bow movement, stable left-hand finger posture, wrist flexibility for vibrato, articulation, and fluid string crossing and shifting.
Methods & repertoire
Developed through scales, arpeggios, the Suzuki Cello School repertoire, Dotzauer etudes, and graded examination repertoire. Students learn to recognise and shape tone qualities, resonance, and bow control.

Graded Examinations
Supports students from Grade 1 to Diploma level (LTCL) for ABRSM and Trinity College London practical and theory examinations. Through technical training, students build a strong foundation and progress confidently through each stage. Along the way they engage with a broad repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary works, plus sight-reading and aural skills, growing into holistic, confident musicians.
Performance Track
Nurtures a passion for music-making across all levels while building strong foundational technique alongside expressive and virtuosic performance skills. Through curated opportunities such as recitals, festivals, and competitions, students develop into soloists with a strong musical identity and real artistic depth.
