Vocal
The only instrument you carry within you. Healthy technique, expression, and versatility, in the classical tradition or contemporary and pop styles.

The voice is the only instrument created and played by the body itself, driven by natural emotional expression. We believe every voice is unique, and that singing is a skill anyone can nurture with healthy technique and thoughtful guidance.
At Sonora you can study in either direction, the classical tradition or contemporary and pop styles, both built on the same healthy foundation.
Classical
Classical singing is driven by natural emotional expression, a deeply human art form bringing together emotion, communication, and storytelling. Every voice is unique, nurtured with proper pedagogy and healthy technique.
Core technical areas
Lessons develop respiration, phonation, resonance, and articulation, with close, steady attention to body alignment and posture, breath support (appoggio), legato and chiaroscuro, open throat and lowered laryngeal position, full resonance across registers, and clear diction.
Methods & repertoire
Rooted in the bel canto traditions of Enrico Caruso. Studies include vocal anatomy, Vaccai vocal exercises, Marchesi's Vocal Method, and a broad range of repertoire.
To sing is the most human of the art form delivery, more than, perhaps, an instrument which has to be tuned mechanically.
Contemporary & Pop
A deeply personal instrument, capable of expressing individuality, emotion, and storytelling across contemporary styles. Every voice has its own colour and identity, and healthy technique gives singers the freedom and confidence to perform with versatility and endurance.
Core technical areas
Lessons develop breath support, vocal registration, tonal flexibility, and stylistic expression, with close, steady attention to posture and body awareness, efficient breath management, chest, mix, and head voice coordination, belting, vocal twang, riffs and runs, microphone technique, and groove, rhythm, phrasing.
Methods & repertoire
Through technical exercises, repertoire coaching, ear training, and guided performance practice across pop, R&B, indie, soul, and musical theatre.
To sing is to bring the world inside you out into the light.
Choose your path
Every instrument can be studied through Graded Examinations or the Performance Track. Pick the one that matches your goals, or we'll recommend a starting point at your trial.
Graded Examinations
Supports students from Grade 1 to Diploma level (LTCL) for ABRSM and Trinity College London practical and theory examinations. Through technical training, students build a strong foundation and progress confidently through each stage. Along the way they engage with a broad repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary works, plus sight-reading and aural skills, growing into holistic, confident musicians.
Performance Track
Nurtures a passion for music-making across all levels while building strong foundational technique alongside expressive and virtuosic performance skills. Through curated opportunities such as recitals, festivals, and competitions, students develop into soloists with a strong musical identity and real artistic depth.
