Varya

Varya is a professional violinist whose artistry combines rigorous academic training, extensive orchestral experience, and an active international performance career. She is currently studying at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (NUS) under Professor Zuo Jun, having graduated in 2025 from the Chopin College of Music in Moscow, where she studied with the violinist and pedagogue Alexander Trostyansky.

A laureate of national competitions including the Moscow Mayor's Grants Competition (Third Prize, 2022), she was a member of Yuri Bashmet's orchestra from 2020 to 2022 and has performed at venues such as the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Zaryadye Concert Hall, and the St Petersburg Philharmonic. She has refined her artistry in masterclasses with Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Evgeny Bushkov, Tatiana Samouil, and Liana Gourdjia.

Inspired by the great tradition of violin playing, I believe there is no single correct way to make music: each musician brings a unique voice, and I strive to nurture that individuality in my students. Consistent effort and discipline are the foundation of artistic growth, but above all, music should bring joy. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel inspired rather than pressured, and build a genuine connection with music.
